CNC Plate Burner Operator– Baton Rouge
FULL-TIME/LONG-TERM/EVALUATION HIRE
$16-$20/ Hr.
Hours: 6 am-2:30 pm; Monday through Friday
Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is seeking a reliable and hard-working Plate Burner Operator for a local client in East Baton Rouge.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES for Operator:
- Operating a CNC plasma cutting machine for the fabrication of steel plates, loading materials, selecting appropriate tools, and programming parameters.
- Inspect materials to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards before initiating the cutting process.
- Monitor the cutting process, inspect finished pieces for quality, and make adjustments as necessary to maintain precision and adherence to specifications.
- Inspect the machine while in operation to verify the machine is running properly, to identify problems that may cause injury to personnel, damage to machinery, or reductions in the quality of the finished product.
- Inspect all finished products, checking for maintenance in production quality and standards.
- Annotate the correct Heat Number for the corresponding material onto the Material Cut List.
- Strictly adhere to client-job specifications and ensure good quality work
- Monitors all activities going on at the work site, records them for accuracy, clarification, and verification, and management reports.
- Report to supervisor regularly, keeping them updated on production activities and progress
- Alert any problems or mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to all safety requirements, including maintaining a clean work area free of hazards.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- MUST be able to read Structural Steel Detail Drawings
- Must be able to layout, cut, and cope miters and degrees on pipe and angle handrails
- Must be able to cut, punch, and bend ladders from detailed drawings
- Must have experience on all hardware machines such as the ironworker, pipe bender, pipe coper, and punch press
- Read and write English and perform math calculations including fractions and decimals
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals.
- Participates in other duties as assigned by supervisor
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Ability to work in a fast-paced shop
- Heavy Lifting may be required.
