Tuber / Steam Trace Installer (Apprentice and Journeyman) – Baton Rouge, LA
Direct hire
$18-33 / hr. depending on experience
Day Shift 8 am – 5 pm
Position Overview: As a Tuber / Steam Trace Installer you will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper installation and maintenance of steam tracing systems for industrial instrumentation. Your expertise in tubing, steam tracing, and instrumentation will contribute to the efficient and reliable operation of critical processes in industrial facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair steam tracing systems for industrial instrumentation, ensuring optimal performance.
- Assemble and install tubing, fittings, and insulation materials in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Fabricate and bend tubing as necessary to achieve precise measurements and alignments.
- Ensure proper insulation and heat tracing of tubing systems to prevent freezing and maintain temperature control.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with existing steam tracing systems, and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Collaborate with project teams to coordinate installations and ensure compliance with project timelines.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Instrumentation Tuber Steam Trace Installer or similar role.
- Current or renewable TWIC card.
- Willing and able to Travel throughout Southern Louisiana when needed.
- Proficiency in tubing installation, steam tracing, and insulation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform tasks requiring manual labor.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
Benefits:
- Overtime if wanted, minimum of 40 hours, maximum of 70 hours a week.
- Per Diem to travel
- Out of state travel if wanted
- 75 to 150 seven day per diem depending on site.
