Job Title: Equipment Mechanic
Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Job Type: Full-Time
Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM; Rotating Saturdays, 6:30 AM - 12:00 PM (1 Saturday every 3 weeks)
Overview: Join our team at [Your Company Name], a leading heavy equipment rental center that also specializes in selling small equipment and servicing a wide range of tools. We are seeking a skilled Equipment Mechanic to handle maintenance and repairs for both small engine tools and large heavy equipment, including cranes, Bobcats, excavators, front-end loaders, and lawn equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on a variety of equipment including cranes, Bobcats, excavators, front-end loaders, and lawn equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on both small engines and diesel engines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist customers with equipment-related inquiries and service needs.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve efficient and effective service delivery.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Equipment Mechanic, with expertise in both small and large engine repair.
- Familiarity with a broad range of equipment, including heavy machinery and lawn tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose mechanical problems effectively.
- Experience in performing preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and small engines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in small and large engine repair is preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a 10-panel drug test and background check.
- No history of violent felonies or misdemeanors.
