Logistics Coordinator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Coordinator. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at problem-solving, and is dedicated to ensuring smooth operational processes. You’ll play a key role in logistics coordination, customer service, and continuous process improvement within a dynamic and team-oriented setting.
Job Summary
As an Operations Coordinator, you will manage the daily coordination of transportation activities, ensuring timely and efficient movement of shipments. You will utilize Transportation Management Software (TMS) and maintain a strong focus on customer service while driving operational excellence. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize TMS systems to plan and schedule material movement.
- Track and monitor the location and movement of customer shipments daily.
- Generate and deliver reports to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Organize workflow, set priorities, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Dispatch and supervise drivers, including monitoring their performance.
- Coordinate truck/trailer maintenance schedules and ensure assets are available.
- Review and adjust load assignments as necessary.
- Handle customer issues, complaints, and provide satisfactory resolutions.
- Develop and implement process improvements in line with team goals.
- Maintain attendance and assist with special projects as needed.
- Communicate operational procedures and provide backup support when required.
- Create exception reports and document delays or problems.
- Collaborate with clients and staff to resolve operational queries.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 1-3 years experience in an Operations Coordinator or similar role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across phone, radio, and email.
- Quick learner with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under constant deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to follow-up.
- Collaborative team player with a customer-first mindset.
- Dedication to processing and organizing information effectively.
Work Schedule
- Shift A: Sunday-Tuesday and every other Wednesday from 6 am - 6 pm
- Shift B: Thursday-Saturday and every other Wednesday from 6 pm - 6 am
Pay Rate
$17 - $18 an hour / Depends on experience level
