Lead Logistics Coordinator

We’re seeking a highly organized and experienced Logistics Operations Supervisor to lead our transportation and logistics coordination efforts. This role requires a motivated leader with a deep understanding of transportation planning, driver supervision, and logistics compliance. Job Summary

As the Logistics Operations Supervisor, you’ll oversee day-to-day transportation activities, dispatch operations, and driver scheduling using advanced Transportation Management Software (TMS). You’ll be responsible for planning, executing, and continuously improving local logistics processes while ensuring DOT compliance, real-time data entry, and exceptional customer service delivery. This role is key in driving operational excellence and fostering a productive, compliant, and performance-driven logistics team.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Define local transportation planning priorities, problems, and issues (PSI).
  • Utilize TMS systems to manage and schedule material movements.
  • Coordinate daily shipment tracking and logistics activity.
  • Dispatch and supervise drivers; assign and monitor load assignments.
  • Create and manage shift schedules for drivers and control tower staff.
  • Measure, report, and manage driver performance and DOT compliance.
  • Manage timely, accurate entries in the operating system for load status, cost, and audit information.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all orders in a real-time system.
  • Monitor assets, schedule preventative maintenance (PM), and manage availability.
  • Initiate driver recognition and discipline procedures as appropriate.
  • Assist senior logistics leadership with weekly briefings and reporting.
  • Generate exception reports and notate delays or service disruptions.
  • Communicate with internal and external clients to answer operational questions.
  • Provide backup support as needed during high volume or staff absence.
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements within customer guidelines.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience & Technical Skills
    • 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role within logistics or transportation.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Familiarity with Transportation Management Software (TMS) platforms.
    • Solid understanding of DOT regulations and compliance standards.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-first approach.

 

Work Schedule

  • Shift A: Sunday-Tuesday and every other Wednesday from 6 am - 6 pm
  • Shift B: Thursday-Saturday and every other Wednesday from 6 pm - 6 am

 

Pay Rate
$18 - $19 an hour / Depends on experience level
