Job Full Description
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Tech for a food manufacturing facility in New Orleans.
Job Summary: The Maintenance Tech is responsible for safely troubleshooting, repairing, and installing equipment within the manufacturing facility and ensuring that quality products are produced timely and efficiently.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates basic knowledge and proper use of hand tools
- Troubleshoots and safely repairs basic mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and components
- Effectively prioritize equipment issues in order of importance, manage downtime, and communicate issues to peers and leadership. Escalates issues to experts or external resources as needed
- Utilize Digital Production System (Redzone) to track assigned actions, update peers, and communicate with departments
- Reads and interprets equipment drawings and OEM Manuals for packaging equipment
- Reads and follows instructions regarding daily expectations, requirements, or specifications
- Accurately completes all work orders and quality paperwork
- Enforces Reily Foods Engineering & Purchasing Standards
- Reports environmental, health, and safety concerns to leadership
- Must be flexible with weekly work schedule to troubleshoot and fix issues as they arise in a timely manner to allow production to meet business demands
- Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation and maintenance shop
- Supports and complies with GMP’s; understands and follows emergency action plan
- Ensures the operation is providing food-safe, quality products which meet or exceed all product specifications and regulatory requirements and reports any issues
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Technical certification preferred
- 2+ years of facility maintenance experience preferred
