Field Technician 1
Qualifications:
Successful candidates for the Field Technician 1 position should meet the following qualifications:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine enthusiasm for working with tools and equipment.
- Ability to comprehend and follow complex instructions is essential.
- Proficiency in mathematics, including the capability to work with fractions and decimals.
- Effective communication skills in spoken and written English.
- Proficiency in driving truck and trailer combinations.
- A professional demeanor with the ability and willingness to communicate effectively with management.
- Capability to safely lift 75-100 pounds on a frequent basis, using proper lifting techniques.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of a drug test and background check.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is required upon hire and as a condition of continued employment.
- Demonstrated history of reliability and dependability in previous work.
Responsibilities:
As a Field Technician 1, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with other company personnel to achieve the company's goals and objectives.
- Prioritizing safety as the top concern and demonstrating a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Properly and safely using tools, equipment, and materials.
- Preparing belt ends for vulcanized splicing, including lap splicing and finger splicing on fabric belt widths ranging from 24" to 96".
- Installing mechanical splice materials and utilizing all related installation tools.
- Assembling vulcanizing equipment.
- Setting up the work area, including removing conveyor components, clamping off the belt, and raising counterweights.
- Handling customer and employee concerns in a professional manner.
- Being flexible and available to work various schedules, including on-call, dayshift, nightshift, weekends, and holidays.
- Thoroughly understanding and executing verbal and written instructions.
- Completing timesheets and expense reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Regularly wearing personal protective equipment, including a hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and, as needed, a respirator, gloves, and other required protective gear.
