Our client is seeking a Benefits Specialist!
Job Summary:
Administers and supports employee benefits programs, including leave management, new hire benefits enrollment, and employee inquiries. Serves as a key resource for staff, ensuring smooth benefits processes and compliance with company policies. Pulls reports, provides guidance to employees, and collaborates with HR teams to support operational needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Manages leave of absence programs, including FMLA, short-term and long-term disability, and company-sponsored leave policies, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies.
•Assists new employees in understanding and selecting benefits options during the onboarding process, providing guidance and answering questions.
•Pulls reports from HRIS and benefits systems to track employee benefits enrollment, leave usage, and compliance metrics.
•Answers questions from employees regarding benefits eligibility, claims, and coverage, escalating complex issues as needed.
•Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits, including ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
•Coordinates with benefits vendors, payroll, and HR teams to resolve benefits-related issues and ensure timely processing of enrollments and claims.
•Supports HR operational duties by assisting in benefits audits, open enrollment planning, and cross-functional HR projects.
•Educates employees on wellness programs, retirement plans, and available resources to maximize benefits utilization.
•Assists with broader HR initiatives, such as employee engagement, process improvements, or data integrity projects as needed.
Education and/or Experience:
•Bachelor's Degree in related field
•At least 2 - 4 years of experience in related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
