Production Supervisor – 2nd Shift
Job Summary:
Seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee and coordinate all aspects of 2nd shift production operations. This role is responsible for managing personnel across multiple departments, ensuring quality and efficiency in manufacturing processes, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, expertise in Lean Manufacturing, and experience in supervising and training employees in a manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and lead full-time and temporary employees to ensure a fully staffed and qualified workforce.
- Oversee all aspects of production operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to deadlines.
- Enforce health, safety, and security policies and procedures.
- Ensure resources, materials, and equipment are available and in serviceable condition to meet production specifications.
- Plan, organize, and direct work activities based on job orders from the Production Controller.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to prevent work stoppages and ensure a seamless production flow.
- Monitor and update work documentation in the ERP system to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with other managers to ensure smooth shift transitions and communicate production needs.
- Work directly on the production line when necessary to cover shortages and identify improvement opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production techniques and ISO requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ERP systems (Epicor or similar).
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to apply scientific methodology to troubleshoot and improve production processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certificates or coursework in Supervision, Leadership, or Management.
- Experience in plastics molding manufacturing is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move, walk, stand, or sit for extended periods.
- Unimpeded use of hands and fingers for computer and paperwork tasks.
- Ability to distinguish between similar numbers and symbols quickly.
- Visual clarity within 10 feet and ability to effectively hear and interpret sounds at a reasonable level.
Additional Information:
- This is a 2nd shift position; candidates should be available to work from 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM.
- This is a temp-to-hire opportunity.
