Job Full Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Lathe Machinist to operate and maintain CNC lathes to produce high-precision components according to engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with setup, operation, and minor programming of CNC lathe machines, along with a strong understanding of machining practices and quality control standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate CNC lathes to machine metal parts to exact specifications.

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.

Load raw materials into machines and monitor operations to ensure parts are machined to spec.

Make machine adjustments and tool changes as necessary to maintain quality.

Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).

Maintain accurate documentation of production and inspection results.

Perform routine maintenance on machines and keep work area clean and organized.

Collaborate with engineers and production teams to improve processes and part quality.

Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certification is a plus.

Minimum 5-10 years of experience operating CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of G-code programming and CNC control systems (e.g., Fanuc, Haas).

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and use measuring tools accurately.

Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and mechanical aptitude.

Able to lift 25 lbs and stand for long periods.
Preferred Skills:

Experience with multi-axis lathes or Swiss-type CNC machines.

Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or 5S principles.

Basic CAD/CAM experience.
