Express Employment is currently hiring for a Purchasing Agent for our client in Romulus, MI. This is a full time, long term position with a busy and growing construction company.
Purchasing Agent Responsibilities:
- Align with teams on material needs, timelines, and budgets. Create and execute procurement plans.
- Source, assess, and manage supplier relationships. Ensure quality, pricing, and delivery meet expectations.
- Research suppliers, request quotes, negotiate terms, and expand supplier options.
- Issue accurate purchase orders and resolve order issues.
- Track stock levels, avoid shortages/overstock, and coordinate storage with warehouse teams.
- Compare prices, analyze costs, and implement savings without sacrificing quality.
- Negotiate supplier terms (pricing, discounts, payment, delivery) while ensuring compliance.
- Interpret blueprints to confirm project needs and materials.
Purchasing Agent Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
- 2+ years in purchasing/procurement preferred
- Ability to read blueprints
