Maintenance Technician Job Summary
A local automotive manufacturing company is looking for a 1st shift Maintenance Technician to join their growing team. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing facility and equipment maintenance, preventive repairs, and troubleshooting, along with operating machine shop tools, reading schematics, and following safety protocols.
Maintenance Technician Responsibilities
- Performs maintenance activities to the facility, its fixtures, machinery and tools to ensure safety throughout
- Accurately follows written and oral instructions and processes
- Ability to operate basic machine shop equipment (milling machine, drill press, surface grinder, lathe, etc.)
- Performs preventive maintenance on tooling, facility/ production equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work overtime when requested; required to be on the on-call schedule and available during those times
- Must provide own basic tool set
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to read and interpret machine electrical and mechanical prints
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers and supervisors
- Follows all safety rules and procedures
- Experience with Forklifts, scissor lift, oscillating lift, and overhead cranes
- All other duties as assigned
Maintenance Technician Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
- Problem solving/analyzing skills
- Good computer skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Advanced Maintenance Management System software experience (a plus)
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly
