Job Full Description
Shipping Associate/Material Handler Summary:
Shipping Associate/Material Handler with a Grand Rapids manufacturer specializing in medical and automotive and office furniture. This is a split role - half the day will be spent in the shipping area and the other half will be spent material handling.
Shipping Associate/Material Handler Responsibilities include:
- Float to various workstations working in cooperation with the Manufacturing Supervisor to assure proper materials at proper stations
- Assist in mold changes
- Maintaining operation of loading equipment
- Ensure material level in the hoppers
- Candidates with natural mechanical aptitude are preferred
- Load defective parts into grinder and operate the grinder
- Empty grinders at the end of shift
- Maintain cleanliness of production and warehouse areas
- Occasional forklift driving
- Assist with shipping and receiving
- Willing to assist with other tasks as assigned
Schedule & Pay:
- 1st shift 6:45am-3:15pm Monday-Friday with overtime and Saturdays as needed
- $18.00-$20.00/HR
Shipping Associate/Material Handler Qualifications:
- Mechanical aptitude
- Experience in material handling
- Knowledge of following processes
- Forklift experience
- Experience in shipping and receiving
- Initiative and willingness to learn is required
