Steel Slitter Set-up/and Bander Operator Job Summary:
A local steel supplier is seeking steel slitter/bander operators for their growing crew.
Steel Slitter Set-up Responsibilities:
- Set-up and operate steel slitting machines to produce steel coils to customer specification
- Use an overhead crane to move materials
- Pre-set-up checkups
- Machine loading
- Machine operation
- Bander operator
- In-process inspections using measuring tools such as Micrometers Calipers and Tape measure
- Securing materials for final packaging
Schedule and Pay:
Schedule: 1st shift: 5:00 am - 3:00 pm, Monday-Friday with Saturdays as needed
Pay: $17.00/HR-$18.00/HR DOE
Steel Slitter Set-up Qualifications:
- 6 months' experience setting up and operating steel slitter machines, preferred
- Utilize hand tools and measuring devices
- Knowledge of overhead crane usage and safety
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds throughout shift as needed, 20 pounds consistently
- Ability to obtain a forklift license
- Ability to read in English and interpret complex job instructions
- Task oriented and self-disciplined
