Contract HR Director Job Summary:
A respected local non-profit is seeking a knowledgeable, detail-oriented HR Director to join its team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will possess a wide array of experience in ownership of the entire HR function for a business. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a collaborative team committed to safety, compliance, and employee well-being.
Contract HR Director Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of employment processes, including compensation, payroll, benefits, employee relations, performance management, and training programs.
- Provide HR guidance and support to both employees and management, offering coaching on performance issues and conflict resolution.
- Oversee company policies and programs related to training, compensation, compliance, and benefits to attract and retain talent.
- Maintain accurate employee records within HRIS and payroll systems.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations concerning equal employment opportunities, unemployment compensation, EEOC, FMLA, and FLSA.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints and resolve issues effectively.
- Audit programs and policies that protect both company and employee interests, ensuring they are in line with HR standards and legal requirements.
- Lead initiatives related to compensation structures, handbook revisions, and earned sick time updates.
- Collaborate on training and safety programs, ensuring adherence to OSHA regulations and handling worker’s compensation matters.
- Make decisions regarding employee benefits in partnership with third-party vendors to enhance coverage options.
- Align HR initiatives with corporate guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with relevant labor laws and manufacturing sector regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by senior management.
Schedule & Pay:
- Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
- $48.00-$53.00/hr, depending on experience
HR Director (Part-Time) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is desired.
- HRCI and/or SHRM certification is preferred.
- 10+ years of HR experience with a proven record of functional ownership, ideally in a non-profit setting.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations is essential.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels; must be approachable and transparent.
- Proficiency in HR-related computer applications.
