Accounts Receivable/Billing Specialist Job Summary:
A leading world-wide manufacturer of machine tools for processing wood and advanced materials is seeking a full-time Accounts Receivable/Billing Specialist to join their team. The accounts receivable specialist is responsible for the receipt and accounting of funds being paid to the organization. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the receipt of payment for goods and services completed by the organization.
Accounts Receivable/Billing Specialist Responsibilities:
- Processes and applies customer payments, credit card payments, and credits.
- Researches and solves billing and payment discrepancies
- Audits and processes customer credits and make adjustments to accounts as needed
- Process delivery notes through the billing procedures in UNIPS
- Prepares reports for accountants as needed
- Sends out inquires, sets credit limits, and processes new customer master files
- Responsible for collections; contacts customers on past due balances, applies payments to past due balances, works with collection agencies, works with other employees in order to get customer accounts updated correctly
- Development of policies, procedures, and system improvements by maintaining work instructions for customer applications
- Assist with financial reporting for month end and year end
- Handling the billing process for Michigan and remainder locations as needed
- Acts as back up for the Accounts Payable position
- Responsible for neatness of work area and security of customer files and reports of delinquent accounts
Accounts Receivable/Billing Specialist Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Accounting preferred, but not required
- 3-5 years of proven general accounting, A/R or billing experience
- Adherence to financial ethics, laws and confidentiality guidelines required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent mathematics and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-pace environment.
