Machine Maintenance Technician
Express Employment is supporting a company seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Maintenance Technician to join their dynamic maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on industrial equipment experience, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Shift Schedule:
- 2nd Shift: 3:00pm – 11:00pm (40 hours/week)
- Little overtime currently and no on-call weekends (shop is closed weekends)
Pay Rate/Salary:
$21 – $25/hour, based on experience.

Summary of Position/Job:
Machine Maintenance Technician will be working in a 2-person team, supporting machine operations including polypropylene compounding batchers, extruders, conveyor systems, pumps, and silos. This role involves working at heights with full harnessing as needed. Training will be provided on specialized equipment, candidate must posses foundational industrial maintenance skills, plastics experience is not required.
Responsibilities:
- Follow safety procedures, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) protocols.
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) and on-demand repairs on industrial equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair routine electrical issues (motor starters, control circuits, etc.)
- Work with 480VAC 3-phase systems, motor starters, contactors, VFDs, and related control components.
- Maintain and repair pneumatic convey systems, extrusion machinery, and material handling equipment.
- Conduct carpentry, welding, and fabrication tasks as needed.
- Inspect and maintain building and manufacturing equipment for safe and efficient operation.
- Operate tools, power equipment, and lifts.
- Collaborate with team members, contribute to problem-solving, and maintain detailed documentation.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in Industrial maintenance. (Plastics industry knowledge a plus but not required).
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with mechanical/electrical systems.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and climb up to 70 ft.
- Strong safety mindset and adherence to maintenance protocols.
