Job Full Description
A local family owned & operated countertop & tile store supplier is looking for a Showroom Customer Service Representative to aid in their facilities operations. Expectations for this role will be to deliver excellent customer service by assisting customers with product inquiries, order placement, and issue resolution. They play a vital role in ensuring a seamless shopping experience by offering expert advice, processing orders efficiently, and addressing any concerns or challenges.
Please note - this is a showroom retail setting*
Onsite: Brighton, MI
Pay: $20-$22/hr - based on experience.
Hours: Averaging 34-40 hours weekly.
Must be open to working the weekend on Saturday.
Job Duties Performed:
- Answering phones.
- Operating Point of Sale software to process credit card transactions.
- Providing firm product & service knowledge to customers as well how to care for their new products.
- Assisting clients with tile and/or countertop selections.
- Guiding clients on how much product they will need by calculating the square footage of their project.
- Reading floor plans and blueprints occasionally.
- Accurately inputting orders into QuickBooks software.
- Prepare sales invoices, quotes, and follow-up communications for inquiries and orders.
- Maintain positive interactions and relationships with suppliers and vendors via phone and email communication.
- Assist Showroom Manager in other tasks as needed.
Core Qualifications Required:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; further education is a plus.
- Experience: Prior customer service experience, preferably in sales, retail or home improvement industries.
- Must be strongly proficient with math. Calculating total costs, square footage to determine amount of materials needed to order & more. Must being willing to undergo a math assessment evaluation.
- Must be proficient with computers & be open to learning QuickBooks software.
