Position: Maintenance Technician
Location: Temperance, MI
Pay: $28-$32/hr.,
Schedule Options:
- Monday - Thursday: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician I will be responsible for the setup and changeover of production machinery. In addition, the technician will assist with repairs, preventative maintenance, and machinery inspections. Must have liquid packaging experience as a preference.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety and quality guidelines with a high sense of urgency and attention to detail, ability to effectively communicate while working independently and with teammates in a fast-paced / high-volume production work environment
- Responsible for assisting with a variety of daily production functions such as: inspect and assess machinery / equipment prior to use; safely and efficiently operate a diverse assortment of machinery, tools, and equipment; investigate, diagnose, and troubleshoot challenging production issues; set up, repair, adjust, fine-tune and changeover machinery; validate all product out-put meets company / customer standards
- Comprehension of schematics, blueprints, and mechanical illustrations to skillfully perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) and gauge Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
- Work with a senior technician to acquire knowledge regarding machinery, equipment, products, and production process; competency and resourcefulness to evaluate cause and effects of adjustments / modifications, proactively anticipate possible barriers and outcomes, analyze results to establish adequate solutions
- Communicate with leadership on open issues and resolution progress
- Promote standards for cleanliness and safe work environments, ensure your work area’s meet these expectations
- Responsible for following all regulatory guidelines (FDA, MDARD, TTB) and standards (GMP, SQF, OK Kosher, Oregon Tilth Organic) as they pertain to job function
- Responsible for performing all assigned tasks with food/beverage safety and integrity in mind
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, with 0-1 years of related experience, (food or beverage industry preferred), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 years of liquid packaging experience required.
- Strong ability to efficiently remain organized, detailed oriented and tactful while communicating, troubleshooting and multi-tasking
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures
