Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Die Setter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and maintaining dies used in stamping presses, operating Hilo's, and cranes, and ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of tooling, quality control, and materials handling, as well as proficiency in CAM programming and CAD software.
What you will be doing as a Die Setter
- Set up, adjust, and install dies for stamping presses to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
-Adjust and align dies to achieve proper clearances and dimensions for quality parts production
- Conduct regular inspections of dies and tooling to maintain quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement design changes and improvements using GD&T principles.
- Perform routine maintenance on dies and stamping equipment to prevent downtime.
- Utilize CAM programming techniques to optimize die setups and production processes.
- Handle materials effectively, ensuring proper storage and organization within the production area.
- Troubleshoot issues related to die performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of die setups, adjustments, and maintenance activities.
What you'll need to succeed as a Die Setter:
- Proven experience as a Die Setter or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of stamping press operations and tooling techniques.
- Familiarity with CAD software for die design and modifications.
- Experience with quality control processes to ensure product specifications are met.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of GD&T principles is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience in materials handling is a plus.
