Job Full Description
As a 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our automated systems, robotic welders, and CNC machines. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing advanced manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on robotic welding cells, CNC machines, and other automated manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair robotic systems (Fanuc, ABB, Motoman, etc.), PLC-controlled equipment, and automation components.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to servo motors, sensors, actuators, HMIs, and electrical systems.
- Work with CNC machinery, including troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical blueprints, and PLC ladder logic to diagnose and repair faults.
- Calibrate and adjust robotic welders and CNC equipment to maintain precision and production quality.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize machine performance and implement process improvements.
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document maintenance activities and track machine performance.
- Follow all safety regulations and procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and proper handling of electrical components.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide recommendations for reducing machine downtime and improving automation efficiency.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate or associate’s degree in automation, mechatronics, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, with a focus on robotic welders, automation, and CNC machinery.
- Strong knowledge of robot programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance (Fanuc, ABB, Motoman, etc.).
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) is a plus.
- Familiarity with servo motors, HMIs, industrial sensors, and motion control systems.
- Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems in an industrial setting.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on 3rd shift with minimal supervision.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed to support production demands.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and work in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Comfortable working at heights and with heavy machinery.
