Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is assisting a growing company in Chanhassen that is looking for a great candidate for a Shipping Assistant. The ideal candidate will hold a High School Diploma or GED and possess experience in distribution. The hours for this Shipping Assistant position are M-Thursday from 6am-4pm and Fridays from 7am-1pm and the pay is $19-21 DOE.
Responsibilities of the Shipping Assistant:
- Being able to perform all activities of a sorting/packaging clerk
- Process shipments by identifying item on order and locating items in inventory/production
- Packaging items for shipment to prevent damage during transit
- Creating labels to identify specific order information
- Loading palletized orders onto truck
- Unloading trucks by use of fork-truck or hoist
- Check product against purchase order
- Use computer to access sales/inventory information
- Maintain order in the shipping/receiving area
- Use Chip Spinning machine to separate metal chips from coolant
- Transfer dry chips in recycle containers and prepare bins to be picked up
Requirements of the Shipping Assistant:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in distribution and inventory transactions
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Forklift experience a plus
- Ability to read and write English fluently
- High attention to detail and organization skills
