Quality Control Technician
Temp-to-Hire
Mound, MN
Shift:   10:00am – 6:00pm or 2nd Shift 1:30pm – 9:30pm. Monday – Friday

The QC Technician will work alongside other chemists in a Laboratory setting to analyze, test, and approve raw materials and production batches. This job will also crossover, as needed, into Microbiology and R&D.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry is preferred, but not required.
  • Relevant work experience, preferably in a production facility.
  • Will provide on the job training, but 1+ years of experience is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, customer requirements, regulatory guidelines, operation instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to create a free-flowing line of communication with internal staff and external customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentage, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, statistics, and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving loose variables in complex situations.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (i.e Word, Excel, Outlook).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preferred Proficiencies: Wet Chemistry, Acid-Base Chemistry, Lab Equipment, Microsoft Office.
  • Miscellaneous duties: cleaning of glassware, disinfection of work surfaces, maintenance of lab cleanliness and organization, maintenance of lab inventory and ordering of supplies.
  • Assist the team leads in various tasks to help with efficiency and expedite Lab processes.
  • Approve batch, storage, and line samples according to SOPs.
  • Review all released batches and audit finished production batches.
  • Receive, collect, and analyze vendor raw materials according to SOPs.
  • Approve raw materials to vendor CoA’s and release materials into inventory.
  • Troubleshoot raw material discrepancies and report problems to the department head.
  • Maintain an organized laboratory notebook that highlights key data and results.
  • Responsible for conducting and monitoring stability studies.
  • Work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Evaluate and develop new in-process test method capabilities to support manufacturing process improvements.
