We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder to join a production team on 2nd shift at a metal manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding, a strong understanding of metal fabrication, and the ability to work with various metals to produce high-quality, precise welds. This role requires attention to detail, commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform TIG welding on a variety of metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, and other alloys, following blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Ensure welds meet precise standards for strength, durability, and appearance.
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality control specifications and adhere to company and industry standards.
  • Set up and maintain welding equipment, including the adjustment of machine settings and consumables.
  • Work with production teams to maintain efficient workflow and meet production deadlines.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of welding equipment and tools.
  • Operate other tools such as grinders, cutters, and saws as necessary to prepare and finish materials for welding.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Identify and troubleshoot welding issues, providing solutions to prevent delays and defects.
  • Communicate with supervisors regarding production goals, quality concerns, and material inventory needs.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in TIG welding, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in TIG welding techniques on various metals, including stainless steel and aluminum.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
    • Knowledge of welding materials, equipment, and tools.
    • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain high-quality standards in welding.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot welding issues.
    • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Certifications:
    • Valid TIG welding certification (or ability to pass a welding test) preferred.
    • Knowledge of welding safety standards and best practices.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and crouch as necessary.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Manual dexterity to handle welding tools and equipment effectively.
