Position Summary:
We are seeking skilled Welders to join our team, where we are responsible for the assembly of complex and high-quality vessels. In this role, you will be responsible for joining various types of metal materials using a variety of welding processes, including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), also known as "stick welding," and Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW), also known as “wire welding.” As part of a dynamic and demanding shipyard environment, this role requires adaptability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:


Perform welding operations on various metal materials using SMAW (stick welding) and FCAW (wire welding) processes.
Execute welds in a variety of positions, including vertical (3G), horizontal (2G), and overhead (4G), in accordance with industry and military specifications.
Work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment where projects may require adherence to tight deadlines and quality standards.
Participate in multiple shifts (day or night) depending on production schedules and project demands.
Work in a variety of conditions, including heights, confined spaces, and different weather environments.
Follow all safety procedures and practices, maintaining a focus on safe operations that meet or exceed industry safety standards.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality production.
Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are properly calibrated, safe, and ready for use.
Inspect welds for quality and compliance with specifications, ensuring all welding work meets both safety and quality standards.


Required Qualifications:


Proven experience with Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW) techniques.
Ability to weld in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions.
Must be able to pass a military specification welding assessment in the vertical (3G), horizontal (2G), and overhead (4G) positions.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety procedures.
Ability to work in a physically demanding and sometimes challenging environment, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including day or night shifts, depending on the production schedule.


Preferred Qualifications:


Prior experience working in a shipyard or similar industrial environment.
Certification or formal training in welding or related field.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


Working Conditions:


Shipyard environment with exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cold temperatures.
Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including welding helmet, gloves, and flame-resistant clothing.
Regular lifting and physical activity involved.
Shift work, including the potential for overtime based on project deadlines.
