Heavy Equipment Operator December 31, 2024

Located in Gulfport, MS

Pay: $18-25

Key Responsibilities:

Operate heavy equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, loaders, graders, and other machinery in a safe and effective manner.
Perform daily equipment inspections to ensure safe and proper functioning before starting work.
Load, unload, and transport materials, equipment, and debris as required by job specifications.
Dig, level, and grade construction sites, ensuring proper depth and alignment.
Move materials, debris, and earth to prepare job sites or to assist in ongoing construction projects.
Follow all safety regulations and operational guidelines while operating heavy machinery.
Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to keep it in good working condition.
Assist with the setup, operation, and teardown of equipment for various construction tasks.
Communicate effectively with site supervisors, team members, and other personnel to ensure coordinated work.
Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and job progress.
Assist with other site tasks as necessary, including material handling or site preparation.

Qualifications:

Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, and loaders.
Valid Heavy Equipment Operator (HEO) certification or equivalent training.
Strong understanding of safety procedures and ability to follow safety protocols on construction sites.
Ability to operate various heavy machinery with precision and care.
Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and identify mechanical issues.
Good communication skills and the ability to work well with a team.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints or project plans is a plus.
Physically capable of performing demanding tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
High school diploma or equivalent.
