Cafeteria Aides - Jackson Co., MS December 31, 2024

Located in Ocean Springs, MS

Pay: $9.40

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and serving of meals in the school cafeteria.
Ensure that food is served according to health and safety standards.
Set up and break down meal service areas, including arranging trays, utensils, and condiments.
Assist students in the cafeteria by helping with food choices and ensuring proper behavior.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, including wiping tables, sweeping floors, and washing dishes.
Monitor food inventory and assist with restocking supplies as needed.
Follow safety protocols and regulations related to food handling and sanitation.
Assist with portion control and serve food according to established guidelines.
Help manage waste and ensure proper disposal of food scraps and packaging.
Provide excellent customer service by assisting students, teachers, and staff in a friendly and helpful manner.
Perform other duties as assigned by the cafeteria manager or school administration.

Qualifications:

Previous experience working in a school cafeteria, food service, or similar environment is preferred but not required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with students, teachers, and other staff.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Must be able to lift up to [insert weight limit, e.g., 30 lbs] and perform physical tasks, such as bending and standing for extended periods.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
A passion for working with children and contributing to a positive school environment.

Schedule:

Part time and full time schedules available between the hours of 6:45am - 2:30pm
