Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment on marine vessels, including lighting, navigation equipment, power distribution systems, and machinery control panels.
Troubleshoot electrical systems to diagnose faults and perform necessary repairs.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Perform routine inspections of electrical equipment to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
Ensure all electrical work adheres to industry standards, company procedures, and safety regulations.
Collaborate with other marine personnel to ensure the smooth operation of the vessel.
Maintain accurate records of work completed, including inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
Qualifications:
Certification: Valid 1st Class Marine Electrician certification or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience in marine electrical work, with a proven track record in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems on vessels.
Knowledge: Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, including AC/DC power systems, electrical distribution, automation, and control systems.
Safety: Knowledge of maritime safety regulations and practices, including SOLAS, IEC standards, and classification society requirements.
Skills: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities; proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical: Ability to work in challenging environments, including confined spaces and outdoor conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with specialized marine equipment, including generators, propulsion systems, and automation controls.
Valid STCW certification and other relevant maritime qualifications.
