Job Opportunity: Drafting Supervisor

We’re looking for a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Drafting Supervisor, where you’ll play a key role in designing custom equipment while supporting our talented staff and collaborating with our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your expertise to a company that values innovation and teamwork.
About the Role:
As a key member of our management team, you’ll oversee all drafting and documentation functions related to the design of custom equipment. You'll be responsible for ensuring project schedules, processes, and documentation are on track, while guiding our drafting staff through the design process. You’ll also act as a liaison between engineering and operations, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration to meet customer expectations.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage and schedule the completion of drawings according to customer contracts or purchase orders.
- Work closely with our customers’ engineering teams to gain approval for the general arrangement design.
- Collaborate with the Operations department to ensure smooth handoff of engineering packages to production planning.
- Develop and implement new standards and procedures to streamline approval processes and improve turnaround times.
- Leverage your expertise in SolidWorks to enhance design and drafting performance.
- Meet with the management team weekly to provide updates on project schedules and timelines.
- Communicate directly with customers’ management or installation teams to address equipment operation, installation, and maintenance concerns.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong leadership and strategic planning skills, with the ability to guide and inspire a team.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and related design tools such as Driveworks and PDM.
- Previous management experience is a plus, or a strong interest in stepping into a leadership role.
- A collaborative spirit and ability to work well with others.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
