Job Title: Fermentation Tank Operator
We are seeking a skilled Fermentation Tank Operator to join our team! As a key member of our production process, you’ll be responsible for the operation and maintenance of specialized equipment used in the production of fermented products. Key Responsibilities:
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure proper operation and product specifications are met.
- Assist in maintaining, reviewing, and creating new SOPs.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in fermentation methods and processes.
- Ensure production materials meet quality standards and are available to maintain schedules.
- Collaborate with the team to coordinate production plans and activities to meet inventory needs.
- Balance quality, productivity, and safety to achieve optimal results.
- Safely operate a forklift and pass required certification tests.
- Work as part of the team to meet performance targets.
- Mix media according to SOPs and production documentation.
- Coordinate with the laboratory and Manager to maintain optimal production and quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues to improve facility performance.
- Operate aseptic fermenters, perform sterile transfers, CIP/SIP, and product harvesting.
- Perform aseptic fill room activities such as cleaning, sterilization, operation, and maintenance.
- Maintain equipment and ensure smooth plant operations.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the fermentation and mixing areas.
- Maintain documentation for all production activities.
- Perform routine inventory checks for fermentation consumables (filters, gaskets, hoses, etc.).
- Develop an annual budget for fermentation consumables.
- Ensure boiler checks and chemical tests meet manufacturer requirements.
- Stay informed on new technologies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Conduct weekly and monthly checks on safety equipment (first aid kits, fire extinguishers, exit lights, eyewash/showers).
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the Fermentation Operations Manager or Company Director.
Position Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment, with a solid understanding of quality systems.
- Preferred Competencies: Strong problem-solving, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Required Skills:
- Knowledge of safe working environments and practices.
- Complete understanding of production scheduling.
- Strong problem analysis and resolution abilities.
