Location: Columbia Falls, MT
Job Type: Full-Time
Shift: Day Shift – Thursday – Sunday or Wednesday – Saturday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (10.5-hour shifts, 30-minute unpaid lunch)
Wage: DOE, starting at $25.56/hour
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Millwright to join our sawmill team. Reporting to the Boiler Manager, this role focuses on maintaining and repairing plant equipment, including truck dump systems, chains, sprockets, bearings, gearboxes, and boiler components. The Millwright also assists with fire system resets and leak repairs while working closely with boiler personnel, kiln operators, and maintenance teams.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older
- 1–3 years of experience in equipment repair and fabrication
- Strong knowledge of industrial mechanics (hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, mechanical systems)
- Preferred experience in welding, metal fabrication, and general construction
- Ability to troubleshoot and quickly diagnose mechanical issues
- Must provide basic tools for job functions
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on truck dump and hog fuel equipment
- Assist with equipment repairs, fabrication, and construction projects
- Troubleshoot and repair plant fire systems
- Work on critical repairs and upgrades for power plant systems
- Keep inventory of parts and request necessary materials
- Follow safety procedures including lockout, fall protection, and confined space entry
- Work in various conditions, including tight spaces, high noise levels, and exposure to wood dust and ash
Physical Demands:
- Frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined spaces
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and industrial environments
