Job Full Description
We are seeking a Treasury Management / Business Developer to join a local bank’s team and assist in driving growth and customer retention. This position will play a key role in developing and implementing a strategic business development program designed to promote, retain, and increase the bank’s customer base and visibility in the communities we serve, all while aligning with the organization’s Mission Statement and Core Values.
This role will also focus on supporting Branch Managers, Retail, and Lending Teams by building a Partnership Program aimed at creating and growing new personal and business accounts. The position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize strong interpersonal skills to serve customers and maintain a positive image as a representative of the bank.
- Develop strategies to promote, retain, and grow customer relationships.
- Enhance the bank’s visibility within the community through local events, networking functions, and partnerships.
- Attend and represent the bank at educational seminars, promotional events, and local community gatherings.
- Prospect and develop new business partnerships through networking and relationship building.
- Create and maintain a Partnership Program with businesses in the service area.
- Develop and distribute marketing materials, such as newsletters, email campaigns, and promotional offers, to current and prospective bank partners.
- Propose, manage, and track the success of business development initiatives.
- Maintain contact with a wide variety of individuals inside and outside the bank, coordinating business development activities, and representing the bank at civic and professional functions.
- Actively participate in local Chamber of Commerce groups, Economic Development Corporations, and other community organizations.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and demographic changes.
- Ensure confidentiality of customer information and transactions.
- Stay informed on bank services, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with all stakeholders, including customers, staff, board members, and external partners.
- Cooperate with other departments to ensure a “team effort” and high-level customer service.
Qualifications:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
- Proficiency with personal computers and relevant job-specific software.
- Strong telephone etiquette and communication techniques.
- Ability to prioritize and work within deadlines.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business marketing or a related field required.
- 3–5 years of experience in banking sales and/or business development.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of the financial industry.
