Responsibilities
- Operate delivery vehicles, including vans and box trucks, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Navigate assigned routes effectively while adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
- Load and unload goods using equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and in good condition.
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding any delays or issues encountered during deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and delivery confirmations.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries.
Skills
- Proficient in driving manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Experience as a van driver or box truck operator is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with route driving and navigating local areas efficiently.
- Previous experience as a courier or delivery driver is an asset.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks, safely.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate record-keeping.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- Physical stamina to handle moving packages of varying weights throughout the day.
