Job Full Description

  • Inventory Management:

    • Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet operational and customer demands.
    • Perform regular stock counts (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly) to ensure accuracy of inventory records.
    • Track product movement and usage, identifying trends and potential discrepancies.
    • Replenish stock by ordering from suppliers as needed while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Data Entry & Record-Keeping:

    • Accurately enter inventory data into inventory management systems or databases.
    • Update stock levels in real-time, ensuring that all product information (e.g., location, quantity, condition) is accurate.
    • Perform regular audits and reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Stock Organization:

    • Ensure inventory is stored in an organized, accessible, and efficient manner.
    • Implement proper labeling, categorization, and shelving practices to ensure quick retrieval and ease of identification.
    • Ensure that products are rotated according to their expiry dates (if applicable) or shelf life.
  • Reporting & Analysis:

    • Generate reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and discrepancies for management.
    • Analyze inventory trends to optimize stock levels, reduce waste, and improve the supply chain process.
    • Provide recommendations to reduce excess inventory or eliminate slow-moving products.
  • Order Fulfillment:

    • Coordinate with the purchasing department to place orders for new stock based on inventory needs.
    • Ensure that all incoming stock is properly checked for accuracy and condition before being stored in inventory.
    • Help prepare items for shipment or distribution as needed.
  • Loss Prevention:

    • Identify and investigate inventory discrepancies, theft, or damage and report findings to management.
    • Ensure proper security measures are in place to prevent inventory loss.
  • Collaborate with Other Departments:

    • Work closely with warehouse, logistics, and sales teams to ensure inventory availability aligns with business needs.
    • Assist in the preparation for stock takes and inventory audits.
  • Additional Duties:

    • Assist in training and supporting new inventory control staff.
    • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and inventory management technologies.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required). A degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business is a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or supply chain operations (preferred).
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of stock replenishment, order management, and supply chain processes.
