Our client is seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to support the Safety Director in championing the health and safety of our team in the dynamic cartage and recycling industry. In this vital role, you'll ensure that safety protocols are followed to the highest standard, protect the well-being of our staff, and help promote a culture of safety that supports our mission to create a cleaner, greener future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety programs and procedures for cartage and recycling operations.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- Lead safety training sessions, ensuring employees are well-versed in safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Investigate accidents or near-miss incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with management to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Promote safety awareness and foster a safety-first culture across all teams.
- Maintain detailed records of safety activities, training sessions, and compliance audits.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a safety role, preferably in the cartage, recycling, or waste management industry.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage all levels of staff.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Certification in Safety Management or OSHA (preferred but not required).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, highly preferred
