Job Full Description
We are seeking dependable and efficient CDL Class B Roll-off Driver who possess a great deal of physical and mental stamina. Must be organized, detail oriented and comfortable working independently. A clean driving record and commercial driving experience is a must.
- Traveling in our trucks to and from different job sites throughout the day picking up and dropping off containers.
- Perform daily maintenance checks on truck and equipment and report any necessary repairs to management.
- Immediately report spills, accidents, injuries, changes in scope of work or any other instance that is beyond the normal course of duties.
- Truck and trailer must be always attended while loading and unloading. Ensure containers are not loaded beyond their design capacity.
- Properly execute company work orders by capturing all necessary dates, times, signatures, waste types and any other necessary information to properly execute the assigned work.
- Report damaged roll-off containers and roll-off containers missing permits, company signage, and unit number to on duty supervisor.
- Complete relevant route paperwork and logs.
- Maintain and drive Roll-off truck
- Only expectation is a good attitude and respect for the equipment.
- Notify Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injures, or property damage.
- Notify Route Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions, including blocked containers, closed lots, street, alleyways, or potential safety hazards.
- Communicate customer requests to Route Manager or Dispatch.
- Identify and report all containers in need of repair or replacement
- Complete and submit customer tickets as required.
- Position and / or return container on the customer’s property in a manner that ensures lids and or doors are properly replaced, and do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform pre- and post- trip maintenance checks. Perform operator services, and record on VIR (Vehicle Inspection Report) status of items checked and accomplished
- Maintain the clean, safe operating condition of fleet vehicles to DOT regulations and standards.
- Know and be familiar with job site safety rules, as well as abide by them. (Hard hats, safety glasses, speed limits, etc.)
- Work safe. Work smart. Conduct self professionally and courteously at all times.
- Communicate effectively with Dispatch and Supervisory personnel via landline, cell phone or radio.
- Process and manage required paperwork accurately, completely and neatly recording times, fuel, oils, mileages and weights. Driver’s Daily Logs as required.
- Level and tarp boxes for safe travel prior to transporting.
- Annotate paperwork regarding out of ordinary events, i.e., DOT stops, flat tires, delay @ mill, etc
Physical Requirements
- Requires using motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity.
- Requires exerting physical effort in handling objects more than 50 pounds frequently.
- Requires pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 75 pounds.
- Normal setting for this job is outdoors and/or driving a video/GPS monitored vehicle
- Will be exposed to a physical environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the workday
Job Requirements
- Must pass Criminal and Driving Background Investigations
- Must have CDL-B License or better
- Minimum of 5-years’ experience
- Medical Card
- Clean MVR Report 8. Ability to pass a DOT drug screening and background check
- Operating various tandem or tri-axle vehicles equipped with roll-off hoists
