Job Full Description
Our client in Secaucus, NJ is looking to hire an Accounting Clerk. This will be a temp to hire position Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm. Salary range from $50K - $55K upon experience.
Responsibilities:
• Work with the Imports Manager to maintain inventory receiving shipment folders.
• Match receiving documents to invoices to verify accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
• Follow up with appropriate personnel to reconcile variances and garner necessary approvals.
• File and maintain organized shipping/receiving files to ensure all necessary documentation is accounted for and validated for audit purposes.
• Review vendor invoices and confirm all cost-related information is entered into the system.
• Maintain master excel schedule of all inventory receiving and associated shipping/import costs, to assist with the average inventory cost per unit calculation.
• Enter vendor inventory product invoices in the Accounts Payable Module in Great Plains.
• Work with staff to review third party warehousing invoices to ensure correctness by verifying price and quantities charged for all services performed.
• Crosstrain to serve as back-up support to the Accounting Team to be utilized when needed for additional coverage.
• Assist with the preparation work for all external Audits.
• Other projects as assigned.
Education/Skills/Knowledge:
• No degree required.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting department experience.
• Experience with a multi-distribution channel organization a plus.
• Apparel industry experience a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains general ledger software or similar system.
• Experience using Excel, with knowledge of V-Lookups and Pivot Tables.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously with little supervision.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as good organizational skills.
