Role: General Foreman

An Express client is looking for an experienced and motivated General Foreman to oversee and coordinate our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering technology, operations management, and a general understanding of Electro-Mechanical assemblies. You will be responsible for managing production activities, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining operational efficiency across various departments, including Fabrication, Electro-mechanical assembly, Plating / Finishing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead the performance of production employees, providing guidance and support as needed. Review/approve weekly timesheets and monitor production hours.
-Oversee equipment maintenance, repair efforts, and ensure operational efficiency of all machinery.
- Manage facility maintenance, janitorial services, and ensure the availability of necessary supplies.
- Prepare and present weekly status reports to management on production activities.
- Assist the purchasing department with requests for quotations (RFQs) and procure necessary supplies, tools, and materials for fabrication and assembly.
- Conduct annual and mid-year employee performance reviews, providing constructive feedback and development opportunities.
- Ensure building security and respond to alarm events as part of team for on-call duties.
-Lead and manage the safety program, including conducting safety training and managing monthly safety team meetings.
- Support the plating department with safety checks, equipment repairs/replacements, and monthly bath analysis, including the purchase of required chemicals.
- Operate forklifts and provide training to employees on forklift safety and operation.
- Serve as a backup boiler operator (low pressure) (Licensing opportunity provided if needed)
Requirements/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with ~10-years’ experience; higher education such as an Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Business/Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment, typically ~3-5 years.
-Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
-Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in using various software tools related to manufacturing and operations.
- Forklift Certification, Low Pressure Boiler Certification and experience in training others is a plus.
