Job Title: Executive Chef Apprentice
Required Hours: 50 hours per week (Full Time)
*overtime hours are expected
Average Work Schedule: Tuesday- Saturday, every other Sunday
Reports to: Executive Chef/Commissary Kitchen Manager
Position Summary:
We are a specialty food company renowned for creating high-quality small-batch recipes for retail and catering. We are seeking an Executive Chef Apprentice to join our commissary kitchen team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated individual eager to learn and grow within our organization. The apprentice will work closely with our seasoned culinary staff, mastering the art of food preparation, recipe execution, and kitchen operations, with the potential to build a long-term career with us.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in preparing, cooking, and packaging small-batch recipes for retail and catering in accordance with the established standards.
· Work closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen staff to learn and execute recipes accurately and efficiently.
· Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment in compliance with food safety regulations
· Participate in quality control chefs to ensure consistency and excellence in all products
· Support inventory management by tracking ingredients and supplies, and assisting with ordering as needed.
· Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations
· Exhibit a willingness to take on increasing responsibility as skills develop
Qualifications:
- Passion for food and cooking with a strong desire to learn and grow in the culinary field
- Some culinary training or relevant kitchen experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions with precision
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and positive attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to staying with the organization long-term
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
- Comfortable working in a commercial kitchen environment with exposure to heat, cold and humidity
- Must be available to work seasonally based hours including nights, weekend and holidays (operation is closed on major holidays)
Compensation:
· Hourly Salary Range: $23.00-$26.00 based on experience.
