Job Description Summary:
The Human Resources (HR) Manager is essential to plant operations, and will oversee all Human Resources activities; including, but not limited to, talent acquisition, payroll management, policy management, conflict resolution, and engagement strategies. Qualified candidates must have prior experience in Human Resources within food manufacturing or other fast-paced industries. The HR Manager must be proficient in Microsoft Office, and adept at using spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel. Strong communication and problem solving skills are required.

The HR Manager must also comply with all federal, state, local and company regulations including OSHA, FDA, EPA and SQF.
Areas of Responsibility:
· Oversee all Human Resources (HR) activities, including talent acquisition, conflict resolution, site communications, and payroll and timekeeping
· Develop, implement, and consistently administer policies and procedures to ensure legal and regulatory compliance with NYS and Federal Labor Laws including FLSA, ADA, FMLA and others
· Responsible for approving time sheets in coordination with Shift Supervisors
· Responsible for organizing shift schedules and communicating with employees
· Manage accurate and current payroll database, updates on employee status, new employees, terminations, and incident reporting
· Manage all recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding of new employees. Maintain detailed training log for all employees, and communicate when annual training courses are due
· Keep all documentation and information strictly confidential
· Lead planning of company outings, holiday parties, and employee meetings
· Execute employee engagement strategies, rewards, and recognition programs
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5-10 years of Human Resources experience
- Experience in dealing with and successfully resolving varied and complex employee relations situations
- Experience maintaining strict confidentiality of data and information
- Experience in understanding and translating the priorities of the business
- Ability to influence and manage change and deal effectively with change management initiatives
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends and recommend solutions to improve employee satisfaction, performance, and retention
- Self-starter with a creative mind and a track record of putting ideas into practice and assessing results
- Track record of cross-functional collaboration
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with familiarity of payroll systems
