Job Full Description
Express Employment Professionals is seeking associates interested in entry level manufacturing positions. The Sand Molder is responsible for creating sand molds used in the casting process. This involves preparing sand mixtures, packing molds, and ensuring the integrity of the molds for successful casting. 2nd shift Monday - Thursday 3pm - 1:30am. $17.60+ DOE
Key Responsibilities:
- Mold Preparation:
- Prepare sand mixtures according to specific formulas and procedures.
- Pack sand around patterns using hand tools or mechanical equipment to create molds of the desired shape and size.
- Smooth and finish mold surfaces to ensure proper casting.
- Inspect molds for defects and make necessary repairs.
- Pattern Handling:
- Position and secure patterns within the mold boxes.
- Remove patterns from molds carefully to avoid damage.
- Safety:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures related to mold making and foundry operations.
- Wear and utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize safety hazards.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of all molds produced.
- Identify and report any potential issues or defects.
- Teamwork:
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient production flow.
- Assist in other foundry operations as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong physical strength and stamina.
- Work in a hot and physically demanding environment.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
