Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Processing: Accurately process payroll for multiple clients, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Tax Reporting: Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, including quarterly and annual reports (e.g., Form 941, W-2, and 1099).
  • Compliance: Ensure payroll procedures align with employment laws and industry best practices.
  • Benefits Administration Support: Assist with client benefit deductions and related payroll integrations.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from clients.
  • System Management: Utilize payroll systems/software efficiently (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Gusto, or QuickBooks).
  • Problem-Solving: Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, including tax and payment issues.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and enhance client services.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2–3 years of payroll processing experience (experience in a CPA or multi-client environment is a plus).
    • Familiarity with payroll systems and tools (e.g., Gusto, QuickBooks, ADP).
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
