An employer local to Western North Carolina with an international footprint is looking to hire an in-house Technical Support Specialist.

 

This position is a team player responsible for supporting all end users with hardware and software to do their jobs efficiently. To be successful, you'll work with go-getter behavior and be described as a troubleshooter that works fast and efficient independently as well as a team. Communication, documentation and organizational skills are a must.

 

Mission or the Position

To ensure that the organization’s primary business applications and hardware serve the needs of the departments and ensure safety and security are a priority within technology. To stay informed on changes in technology and make recommendations. Go above and beyond to assist users in a professional, kind and patient manor.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • On Call rotation for Emergency IT line as needed
  • Purchase equipment as needed such as MacBooks, laptops, keyboards, desktops, hard drives, etc
  • Onboarding: As employees are added, setup new MacBooks and apple ids or windows based laptops. Install virus protection (Bit Defender), password protection (1Password), Dropbox, Microsoft office, adobe software, Gmail, Mattermost, craft, blubrry permissions, vpn access, etc.
  • Offboarding: disable, disuser and uninstall software and permissions
  • Maintain IT systems inventory
  • Maintain printer with toner and troubleshoot with Morris as needed
  • Troubleshooting and providing technical support to employees’ business applications.
  • Train and test employees on security as needed.
  • Submit tickets to WNC Bits if unsure how to fix the problem, then document in Confluence so we have the skills to correct it ourselves in the future.
  • Vendor Management
  • Manage Jira ticket system and assign them to the IT Team. Complete tickets assigned and respond in a professional manner with correct grammar.
  • Document processes in confluence and cross train with our team members.
  • Learn woodwing system to be a backup for users and manage access and workflows with Jumpcloud
  • Manage Apple Business Essentials
  • Implement Contract software and assist department heads with setup and using
  • PCI Support
  • Organize Dropbox features to benefit our company
  • Investigate Autotask vs Jira/Confluence
  • Investigate https://demo.snipeitapp.com/ to manage inventory for IT and Accounting Depreciation
  • Create a way to onboard and track employees priv/software throughout employment and transfers to offboarding.
  • Staying up to date on industry standards and technologies for security and protection.

 

 

 

Desirable Experience

 

Purchasing hardware and software experience

Install windows OS or mac OS, 1password, Microsoft office, adobe, bit defender, Dropbox, vpn

Experience with Jira or confluence is a plus but not necessary

Must have excellent documentation and communication skills

Experience as google administrator to setup email and groups is a plus

Supporting and troubleshooting printers (with assistance of support contracts)

 

 

 

Work Schedule: This is primarily a combination onsite/offsite position.  The schedule is 5 days a week on site while training then open to hybrid options once trained and at performance standards.

 

$42,000/year-$48,000/year DOE to start.
