Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday - Friday)

Summary

Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, and in maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviews job orders to determine work priorities.
  • Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
  • Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
  • Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manages one subordinate supervisor who supervises a total of 10-12 employees in the Maintenance department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Science from a two-year college or technical school; and six to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 


Qualifications, Skills, Ability, and Work Environment

  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
