Express is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to work in Jacksonville. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial concepts and public accounting practices, with the ability to analyze complex financial data. As a Tax Preparer, you will be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations. Strong customer service skills are essential as you will be interacting with clients to gather necessary information and provide guidance throughout the tax preparation process.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file accurate tax returns for individuals and businesses in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Analyze clients' financial information to identify tax deductions, credits, and liabilities.
- Utilize financial software such as Sage to manage client data and streamline the tax preparation process.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
- Conduct thorough reviews of completed tax returns to ensure accuracy before submission.
- Assist clients in understanding their tax obligations and provide recommendations for future tax planning.
- Perform 10 key typing tasks efficiently to input data accurately into financial software.
Requirements
- Previous 2 years experience in public accounting or as a tax preparer is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Proficient in using financial software; experience with Sage is a plus.
- Solid understanding of financial concepts and taxation principles.
- Excellent math skills for accurate calculations related to tax returns.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills to manage multiple clients' needs simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Job Types: Full-time, part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
