Job Summary:
We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This on-site position requires an experienced and detail-oriented HR professional who can perform a variety of administrative duties while maintaining a high level of confidentiality. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of company policies, departmental procedures, and federal requirements, including Affirmative Action Plan compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer various HR plans and procedures for all company personnel, including assisting in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain the employee handbook and HR policies manual.
- Collaborate with the HR team to develop and monitor department goals, objectives, and systems.
- Design or modify HR programs based on changing company needs.
- Manage benefits administration, including workers’ compensation claims resolution, reporting changes, approving invoices, and communicating benefits to employees.
- Oversee employee leave programs.
- Utilize ADP software for payroll processing, managing employee records, time tracking, and generating payroll reports.
- Handle daily employee relations issues and HR-related concerns.
- Process hourly and salary status changes following established procedures.
- Administer and verify eligibility for tuition reimbursement payments.
- Assist with employee relations, investigations, audits, and filing processes.
- Maintain Affirmative Action templates and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (EEO, Affirmative Action, Veteran reporting).
- Assist with recruitment efforts, including job fairs, phone screenings, and applicant processing.
- Coordinate special projects and miscellaneous HR-related tasks with minimal supervision, ensuring cross-departmental functionality.
- Regularly evaluate reports and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to improve HR department efficiency and services.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity and discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Hands-on experience with ADP payroll software.
- Familiarity with federal and state compliance requirements for Affirmative Action/EEO and Veteran reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Personnel Management, or Business Administration required, with 5 years of HR experience.
- A combination of 8+ years of professional experience in the HR field may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a drug test and background check.
- Resume submission required.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays based on business needs.
Schedule:
This position is Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend or evening shifts as needed.
