Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and heavy equipment to facilitate the efficient movement of materials within our distribution center. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, including clamp trucks and cherry pickers, to move products and materials throughout the warehouse.
- Utilize pallet jacks and RF scanners for efficient order picking and inventory management.
- Ensure proper handling of materials to prevent damage during transport.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks, ensuring accurate placement of goods.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and meet production targets.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation and report any maintenance needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse or distribution center.
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment, including pallet jacks, clamp trucks, and heavy equipment operation.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to forklift operation and warehouse practices.
- Ability to perform order picking efficiently using RF scanners.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Valid forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided for qualified candidates.
