Position: Fraud Analyst
Location: Monroe, NC
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.
Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and critical-thinking Fraud Analyst to join their team. In this role, you will work a queue where checks have fraud indication and you will be approving or declining transactions. This position involves visually inspecting flagged areas on checks, determining whether transactions are fraudulent, and documenting decisions thoroughly. The role is repetitive yet requires sharp analytical skills, independent judgment, and attention to detail.
Previous Banking Experience is Preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Review up to 100 checks per shift using the bank’s application system to assess potential fraud indicators.
- Visually inspect flagged points on checks to ensure authenticity and compliance.
- Approve or decline transactions based on findings, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Enter detailed notes in the system explaining the rationale behind each decision.
- Leverage critical thinking to analyze each case independently, as no two scenarios are identical.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management when required, utilizing strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency in handling repetitive tasks within deadlines.
- Use Microsoft Office tools and the bank's internal systems for tracking and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to focus on repetitive tasks without sacrificing accuracy.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in verbal and written communication.
- Experience in banking or finance is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions confidently.
