Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Production Supervisor for our 2nd shift operations. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities and ensuring that operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable getting into the weeds with the crew to meet production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Production Crew: Directly oversee the crew’s daily activities, ensuring all production processes are followed according to the established procedures.
- Safety & Compliance: Monitor and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety guidelines. Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.
- Material Flow Management: Ensure the timely flow of raw materials received and finished products shipped. Collaborate with logistics to maintain inventory levels and reduce downtime.
- Maintenance Oversight: Manage the upkeep and maintenance of equipment to minimize downtime. Coordinate with maintenance teams to resolve any equipment failures and ensure a continuous production process.
- Goal Achievement: Meet or exceed daily and weekly production goals by optimizing crew performance and maintaining efficiency. Troubleshoot any production delays or issues to maintain a smooth workflow.
- Team Leadership: Motivate, train, and develop production employees to ensure high levels of performance and team cohesion. Provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate production records, including tracking productivity, reporting on safety, and keeping detailed maintenance logs. Provide regular reports to upper management.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-5 years of prior supervisory experience in a production environment, preferably in manufacturing or a similar industry.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently and stand for extended periods.
- Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of production processes, safety regulations, and equipment maintenance.
- Work Schedule: Ability to work 2nd shift (typically afternoon/evening hours) and flexibility to work overtime if needed.
