Quality Engineer
We are sourcing applicants for a Quality Engineer to drive product excellence through process optimization, defect prevention, and data-driven decision-making for a family owned metal fabrication plant. This role ensures that manufacturing operations, suppliers, and finished products meet IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer quality standards. You’ll work cross-functionally to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Compensation: $90K
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Systems & Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) aligned with IATF 16949 & ISO 9001.
Process & Product Control: Conduct process validation, FMEA, control plans, and SPC analysis to maintain production consistency.
Root Cause & Corrective Actions: Lead 8D problem-solving, CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions), and non-conformance investigations to resolve quality issues.
Supplier & Material Quality: Oversee PPAP, APQP, and supplier audits to ensure incoming material quality and compliance.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize Six Sigma, statistical methods (SPC), and process audits to drive data-based improvements.
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in quality engineering within metal manufacturing environment.
IATF 16949 & ISO 9001 experience with a strong understanding of PPAP, APQP, FMEA, and SPC.
Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies (8D, DMAIC, CAPA, Root Cause Analysis).
Hands-on experience with measurement systems, GD&T, and metrology tools.
Strong communication and leadership skills to work cross-functionally.
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
